Real Housewives of Salt Lake City alum Jen Shah is officially free after serving 33 months in prison and “community confinement” after committing multiple fraud charges.
Jen provided a statement to the Hollywood Reporter. “Today, I feel blessed. I feel free. And I’m excited to see what happens next.”
“Today marks the official completion of my sentence and the closing of a chapter that changed my life and my family forever.” Jen admitted that she “made decisions that had serious consequences” and fully accepts that.
While serving time in prison, she took time to “reevaluate” her choices … and the people she let into her life. “I can see those things today in a way I couldn’t then. I take responsibility for the decisions that were mine.”
“Today, more than anything, I feel grateful, hopeful and genuinely excited about the future.”
Jen isn’t interested in “relitigating the past.” In fact, she’s ready to find normalcy. “I’m ready to work. I’m ready to create.” She continued, “I’m ready to laugh, have meaningful conversations, reconnect with people, and build things I’m proud of. There are projects ahead that I’m incredibly excited about, and I’ll share more when the time is right.”
The former RHOSLC star was also ordered to forfeit $6.5 million in assets and pay as much in restitution to her victims, who were hundreds of vulnerable and elderly individuals across the US who lost their life savings to her decade-long telemarketing scam.
