Jax Taylor has responded after Brittany Cartwright obtained a temporary restraining order over allegations of past domestic violence.
The former Valley star issued a statement via his Instagram Story after news broke that his estranged wife had filed for and been granted the TRO.
“I made a lot of mistakes and behaved in ways during that period of my life that I’m truly ashamed of and regret and take full responsibility for,” Jax began on Friday, Aug. 28.
“The person I was in 2024, during the darkest time of my life and at the height of my addiction, is not the person I am today.”
Jax added that he is one year and nine months sober and has “remained committed to treatment and therapy.”
On Thursday, Brittany was granted a temporary restraining order after alleging years of abuse, including threats, physical attacks and property destruction.
Cruz’s mom claims Jax once threatened to “gut” her “like a f***ing fish” and threw furniture during a 2024 altercation, leaving her with a badly bruised knee.
Jax acknowledged the allegations in his statement, adding that he is “shocked” they are resurfacing now.
“Especially when there have never been any police reports filed or criminal charges brought against me related to them,” he continued.
“There are allegations being made that I strongly dispute. The full story, context and evidence will be addressed where it belongs—in court.”
Jax said he will respect the court’s orders and the legal process.
He added that his focus remains on his sobriety, being the best father he can be to their 5-year-old son, Cruz, and moving forward in a healthy and responsible way.
