Comedian Amy Sedaris dished on her ‘calming’ coloring club, which has her friend/Bravo TV exec Andy Cohen, as an honorary member.
On a recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Amy revealed which of her and Andy’s mutual friends have joined – and who hasn’t joined – the coloring club.
Coloring and cannabis:
Amy explained, “It began because I was working on a movie and I got COVID. I never got COVID before,” she told PEOPLE. “My doctor was like, ‘You don’t really have to quarantine. It’s different now.’ But I decided I’m going to quarantine. I stayed home for five or six days, and I just started coloring, and I remember it really calmed me down.”
Once Amy was up for company, she worked friends and weed into the mix.
“You don’t have to be a pothead to be in it, but it’s just a good thing that’s calming. I have a lot of books and a lot of paint pens and crayons and just random people. We just get together and chit-chat and color.”
Amy’s coloring book collection is designed to fit her friends’ interests. “Sometimes you want something detailed. Sometimes you want a big apple when you just color in the apple or something big. You just get lost in that.”
“I have a good gay one [Andy Cohen’s favorite]. Filthy.” The executive producer is “almost done” with the gay coloring book. “That’s the best one.”
Amy quipped, “I love it when you’re talking to someone, and they show me what they’re coloring. I’m like, ‘This whole time I was talking to you, you were coloring balls? Really?’”
The Who’s Who of Amy’s coloring club:
In addition to Andy Cohen, his close friend/musician John Mayer has been a guest colorer at Amy’s gathering.
A mutual celebrity friend of Amy and Andy who hasn’t colored with the club is Sarah Jessica Parker. “It doesn’t mean she won’t, but she hasn’t been to one yet,” added Amy.
She joked that the exit fee is what’s keeping the Sex and the City alum from attending. “It would cost her a lot of money [to leave the club].”
