Dancing With the Stars host Alfonso Ribeiro encouraged fans to make their desire to get two seasons of ABC‘s competition show per year a reality.
Derek Hough and Ezra Sosa agreed with Alfonso … and even suggested a petition to get two DWTS seasons a year with a new concept in mind.
Double the fun:
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alum encouraged DWTS fans to use their voices to get the executives’ attention. “If every fan goes onto their social media platforms and says, ‘We need two seasons a year. We will watch religiously.’ That would be one of the ways that could happen.”
Ezra Sosa suggested a “petition” to give DWTS two seasons a year may help. “There either needs to be two seasons a year or there needs to be Dancing With the Fans. That’s all we want!”
Pro-dancer-turned-judge Derek Hough slid into the comments to share Ezra’s sentiment. “I’ve been pitching Dancing With The Fans for 15 years. Let’s make it happen.”
Re: the petition …
The Change.org petition was created by Amazing A’s. “Dancing with the Stars has become a cherished staple in our lives, providing entertainment, inspiration, and a much-needed escape from the daily grind. As a die-hard fan, I eagerly anticipate each season, along with millions of others who share this passion.”
“Having Dancing with the Stars twice a year would not only double the fun and excitement for fans but also offer numerous benefits to a wider audience. It would provide more opportunities for dancers, choreographers, and the behind-the-scenes crew to showcase their talents, potentially uncovering new stars and revitalizing the art of dance for new generations.
“Doubling the seasons would bolster its popularity and increase its cultural impact, drawing in new viewers and maintaining its status as a beloved show.”
