90 Day Fiancé‘s Sumit Singh took to Instagram to update Jenny Slatten‘s friends, fans, and followers on her ongoing ALS battle.
Sumit began, “Unfortunately, the ALS is progressing. Now it’s starting to show more in her [speech]. It’s hard for her to talk now.” Jenny “can’t talk” much due to her illness.
The 90DF star noted that Jenny’s balance and ability to walk have also been affected. “It’s progressing, but we were thinking that we’d come to America if we could get proper treatment. I always keep my hopes high, and I feel that America might have something better for Jenny and she can get at least a better support system.”
Jenny had relocated from the United States to Sumit’s native India when they got married. According to the TLC star, local Indian doctors and hospitals don’t have comparable studies or experience with the disease.
“It is getting weaker,” Sumit acknowledged, hoping that Jenny will soon receive a better and more robust “support system” as her symptoms progress. “Our plan was to get the visa. I’ll travel with Jenny and go [to America] and start the treatment.”
Sumit claimed that he has not yet been approved to receive a visa to America, which is the reason why [Jenny] hasn’t traveled back on her own to begin a treatment protocol.
He worries, “If I don’t get the visa, it means that we will be apart forever. This is a reason Jenny doesn’t want to go to America without me.”
Jenny and Sumit announced in May that she had been diagnosed with ALS. ALS is a progressive, degenerative disease. It destroys nerve cells controlling voluntary muscle movement. There is no known cure.
