Whitney Leavitt’s time in the ballroom has officially come to a close.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives standout — and the show’s most polarizing “villain” — was shockingly eliminated during Prince Night, despite spending much of the season near the top of the leaderboard.
Whitney and Mark Ballas delivered a cha cha to “1999” and a Viennese waltz to “Slow Love,” but it still wasn’t enough to keep them out of the bottom.
However, her elimination wasn’t all about the dancing.
Whitney’s reputation on SLOMW has been a constant talking point among viewers, with many calling for her exit due to being a “mean girl” and having prior dance experience.
ICYMI: Whitney’s dance background is extensive.
She trained competitively from a young age, earned a BFA in Dance from Brigham Young University, and even competed against fellow Utah dancer Witney Carson.
Still, Whitney walked away with nothing but gratitude.
“I already feel like a winner,” she said. “This show has meant the absolute world to me. It’s changed my life, and I’ll forever be grateful to have this experience.”
Mark added, “I had the best time. I love this show.”
Now, with only five stars remaining — Alix, Jordan, Dylan, Robert Irwin, and Elaine Hendrix — the race for the Mirrorball is officially heating up ahead of the November 25 finale!
On a side note, I can’t help but wonder if the timing played a role.
Whitney’s elimination arriving right as SLOMW season 3 premiered may have reignited old frustrations and pushed casual viewers to withhold their votes.
