Southern Charm star Venita Aspen chatted with Taste of Reality about Charleston life, beauty and fashion, gut health, and, of course, all things Bravo TV!
Venita partnered with plant-based, prebiotic fiber supplement Benefiber to help her followers support their digestive health and nourish the good bacteria our bodies need.
Available in easy-to-use formats including powders, capsules, and chewables, Venita’s favorites are Benefiber’s “on the go” sticks and gummies. Specifically, Venita noted the gummies come in handy when making “smooth exits,” and she plans to explore cooking/baking with the powdered form.
With Venita’s culinary experience, (We all know she makes a damn good Branzino!) she likes to try a variety of foods.
The Bravo TV beauty recommended Benefiber to stay regular, specifically when traveling and not in your typical routine.
Regarding Charleston life, Venita took a moment to drop some recommendations for those visiting South Carolina … and for those attending Bravo’s fan fest later this year. Venita recommended the gnocchi at FIG, Hannibal‘s for traditional Southern cuisine, and The Ordinary, specifically for the fried oyster slider.
Venita dropped some beauty tips for those of us who are striving for her healthy glow.
In addition to Benefiber, which works from the inside out, Venita swears by minoxidil (pills and drops) for hair growth. Speaking of hair, we couldn’t help but ask about the instantly infamous ponytail/bun hybrid Bravo fans have been inundated with the last few weeks.
“All I can think about is that bun Amanda [Batula] wore at the reunion. It’s a WASTE!” With that said, Venita declared buns – specifically space buns – are TASTE! … and your friends at Taste of Reality couldn’t agree more!
The POV Venita has adopted for fashion trends is worth noting.
For many, fashion is “the only way people are truly able to express themselves without talking.”
The Southern Charm star explained, “I try really hard not to agree with a fashion trend or agree with where fashion is going. For a lot of people, that’s the only way they know how to express themselves without words.”
Venita’s Bravo Takes
Venita answered our question about Salley Carson, specifically now that it’s known she’s hooking up with Kyle Cooke.
Spilling the Southern Charm tea, Venita made it clear Salley is single.
“She’s going to do what she wants. I learned that the hard way last year.” When asked about her former co-star JT’s decision to leave Charleston, Venita declared, “he needed to leave.”
Sliding over to her neighbors at Republic, Venita hasn’t watched all of Southern Hospitality, but has followed the dialogue on social media.
“They had a very tough season. One thing that I’m happy about is that the topic of race is being put back in the public. When I came on [Southern] Charm, I received the most insane amount of backlash I’ve ever received in my life. It’s nice to see the production team, the network, and everyone is trying to make sure that when things like that happen, it’s no longer swept under the rug. We’re talking about them and speaking of it out loud.”
Venita has learned a lot in the last six years being on Bravo.
“I’m finally in the space where it no longer matters, so I’m going to be fully myself.”
The fashion lover admitted to “hiding” parts at the beginning of her Bravo tenure. But now, “Who cares?! They are going to talk regardless.” Venita asserted, “I’m just going to do whatever I feel I want to do.”
Speaking to the Bravo Gods, we are manifesting a Venita cooking show. And if we can be greedy, a home design show focusing on Ciara Miller’s recently purchased family home!
