Tom Girardi’s federal prison sentence has begun, according to reports from Page Six.
The estranged husband of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘s Erika Jayne was sentenced to over seven years for embezzlement.

A spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Prisons reported that the 86-year-old turned himself in Thursday in “the late afternoon.”
The custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) Los Angeles. Online records also show that he has already been registered as an inmate.
The disgraced attorney was sentenced to seven years and three months behind bars for his fraud conviction on June 3, which also happened to be his 86th birthday.

Courtroom News reported, “Judge Josephine Staton ruled that Girardi’s evident mental decline was not so severe that he couldn’t serve his sentence in a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility.”
After a six-week evaluation, forensic psychologist Dr. Brianna Grover testified that the disgraced attorney “doesn’t require inpatient psychiatric care notwithstanding his mental defects. She noted that federal prison facilities make accommodations for elderly inmates suffering from mental health issues.”
