I love Jennifer Welch and Angie ‘Pumps’ Sullivan with every fiber of my being.
So, when I learned that the long-time besties I was introduced to on their podcast, I’ve Had It, used to have a show on Bravo TV, I was overjoyed.
Sweet Home Oklahoma:
Like any normal person, I watched season one of Jennifer and Pumps’ show on a lazy Saturday.
The first season of the BFF’s show was called Sweet Home Oklahoma, which premiered in March of 2017. It returned in November of 2018 for a second season with a new name, Sweet Home, and a renovated premise.
Season one focused on the friendships of Jennifer, Angie, and Lee Murphy, who didn’t return for season 2. Additionally, Jennifer’s ex-husband/Angie’s close friend and colleague Josh Welch was a prominent figure on the show, along with the on-again couple’s pride and joy, Tubby Welch, Jennifer’s French bulldog.
The Welch’s sons, Dylan and Roman, appeared on the show, as did Pumps’ kids, Sam, Emily, and Luke.
Let’s take a deeper look at Sweet Home Oklahoma’s main cast members!
Jennifer Welch
A successful interior designer, Jennifer lives with her ex-husband and their sons in Oklahoma City, where she co-hosts a quickly growing podcast, I’ve Had It, with Pumps. They also wrote a book, Life Is A Lazy Susan of Sh*t Sandwiches, which is where I learned of Jennifer and Pumps’ history on Bravo.
Season 1 focused on Jennifer’s friendship with Angie and Lee. On the penultimate episode of season 1, Jennifer helped Pumps move from her family’s home in the Beverly Hills of OK City, to ‘Siberia’ … aka, five miles away.
Jennifer decorated Angie and her kids’ new home in the season 1 finale, which led to the new premise for season 2. In season 2, Sweet Home Oklahoma, focuses on Jennifer’s design company, her staff, and family. Angie (and her family) came back for season 2, but Lee didn’t.
Angie ‘Pumps’ Sullivan
Pumps – and the signature rubber glove she wore so she wouldn’t smell like a cigarette – were instant fan favorites for the Bravo audience.
Podcast listeners and YouTube audience can’t get enough of Angie’s hilarious commentaries and quirky POVs, which helped I’ve Had It get to a million subscribers on YouTube.
Pumps detailed the addiction struggles she faced while filming Bravo’s cult-classic show in the book, Life Is A Lazy Susan of Sh*t Sandwiches … as well as her ex’s addiction to sex workers, which led to their divorce.
Lee Murphy
Despite Lee not returning to season 2 of Sweet Home, she landed on her feet.
She has three sons and a rewarding career in medical device sales.
While there are rumors on Reddit that Lee and Jennifer had a falling out, it doesn’t appear to be true. Both Jennifer and John Welch regularly show love to Lee on social media, as does Pumps.
While Lee keeps her life private, she hard-launched a romantic relationship last fall on Instagram. (I wonder if it started as a blind date, like we saw on Sweet Home Oklahoma. Never forget how Pumps and Jennifer hilariously crashed Lee’s first blind date in seventeen years.)
Josh Welch
Fans of Sweet Home Oklahoma saw Josh and Jennifer co-parenting after he sobered up. He was forced to stop practicing law (he worked alongside Angie, which is how Jennifer and Pumps became acquainted) and found peace in photography, which helped him get and stay sober.
Josh works as a lawyer again, continues to enjoy photography, and travels often. He was recently in Mallorca and Capri en route to an Oasis concert in London with Roman, he and Jennifer’s youngest son.
Tubby, the french bulldog
With over 17k Instagram followers, Tubby Welch, remains the apple of Jennifer’s eye.
Tubby’s Insta bio states, “My name is Tubbers / Sweet Home Oklahoma breakout star on Bravo TV / I love PUMPS.”
In a surprise to no one, not even Pumps, Tubby is a favorite within the I’ve Had It’s podcast fandom.
