Former Vanderpump Rules personality Randall Emmett may have difficulty hiring writers for his future projects.
The LA Times reported on an advisory the Writers Guild of America West issued. It forbade its members from working on a film in which Randall was collaborating with Martin Scorsese.
‘Wall of White’ gets blacklisted:
Meg James wrote, “Low-budget action movie producer Randall Emmett recently unveiled a high-profile collaboration with Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese.”
But, the story of a deadly 1982 avalanche near Lake Tahoe may not make it to the big screen after all …
While Lala was giving BJs for PJs, Randall’s writers weren’t getting paid.
“The guild cited Emmettโs failure to pay writers for work on past projects.” Since 2020, Emmett has been on the guildโs โstrike list,โ as per the LA Times.
In an email to its members, the WGA communicated, โEmmett has a long history of refusing to honor obligations to writers. The Guild has filed numerous arbitration claims against companies owned by Emmett over the last decade.โ
They added that the Writers Guild rules โprohibit members from working for or selling literary material to companies or individuals who are on the Strike/Unfair List.โ
โWe want to make sure that every WGA member knows about this project. They cannot work for [Randall’s] Convergence Entertainment Group … in connection with this project or any other project.”
โThey cannot work for Randall Emmett.โ
Randall’s rebuttal:
Lala Kent’s ex told The Times that โWe are fully financing this movie.”
โOur representatives will be reaching out to the Writers Guild, so we can put this matter behind us.โ
However, WGA’s senior attorney Leila Azari told The Times, โEmmett has stated multiple times in the past that he would pay and never has.โ
