Rachael Kirkconnell is stepping into her solo era and she’s thriving.
After her surprising split from Matt James while the two were abroad in Japan, fans were left wondering what went wrong.
The couple had been documenting their travels, giving no hint of trouble in paradise.
However, it was revealed the couple split due to lingering past issues, differing views on marriage, and a disconnect about their future.
Speaking of her future:
“I’m scared for the future sometimes,” Rachael shared on the Trading Secrets podcast.
“But I’m really enjoying my independence… I’m not going to settle anymore.”
A lover girl through and through, Rachael still wants her fairy tale — just not at the cost of her peace.
“I would rather be alone than be in something unhealthy or something I know is not right at the end of the day.”
But, enjoying the single life has “been fun,” she added.
