Ozzy Osbourne died Tuesday at age 76 after his years-long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
The founding father of British heavy metal, solo star, and celeb-reality luminary’s death was confirmed by the BBC.
A word from Ozzy’s family:
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.”
“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
Just two weeks ago, there was a massive tribute to the legendary musician. Artists from Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Tool, Pantera, Alice in Chains, and many others acknowledged the incredible influence Ozzy had on the music industry.
The Osbournes, ICYMI:
The Osbournes was an American reality television series featuring the domestic life of Ozzy Osbourne and his family. His wife Sharon, their daughter Kelly, and their son Jack were featured, unlike their daughter Aimee.
Ozzy and Shaaaaarrroooooon‘s family dealt with major events such as Sharon’s battle with cancer and the aftermath of an ATV accident that nearly killed Ozzy on their celeb-reality.
The series premiered on MTV on March 5, 2002. In its first season, The Osbournes was cited as the most-viewed series ever on MTV. The final episode aired on March 21, 2005.
I think this is as good a time as ever for a re-watch of The Osbournes if there ever was one.
