Fans of the hit 2010s CW series The Vampire Diaries will be thrilled to know that Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley are once again playing opposite one another.
Deadline reported that Alex Cooper’s production company, Unwell, landed the rights to the book adaptation for Hulu following a competitive bidding war.
Written by Grand Hotel developer Brian Tanen and based on Aggie Blum Thompson’s 2025 novel, You Deserve to Know follows three suburban couples who are next-door neighbors and best friends.
When one of the husbands is murdered, a shocking trail of secrets is exposed, causing their tight-knit friendship to crack wide open.
Nina and Paul will play Gwen and Scott, respectively — two neighbors who find themselves on opposite sides of a murder investigation, putting them on a collision course.
In addition to starring, they’ll also executive produce.
ICYMI: Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley starred together for six seasons on The Vampire Diaries as Elena Gilbert and Stefan Salvatore.
Elena famously fell in love with Stefan first, a vampire from 1864.
However, she eventually developed feelings for Stefan’s brother, Damon Salvatore — kicking off one of television’s most epic (and incredibly hot) love triangles.
The series ran from 2009 to 2017, with Nina returning for the series finale after departing the show in 2015.
And for the trivia nerds: The Vampire Diaries was originally a book series written by L.J. Smith.
