Charlie Zakkour‘s criminal connection led his Next Gen NYC co-stars to disengage with the crypto bro.
ICYMI, Charlie, who is not implicated in the alleged crimes against an Italian crypto millionaire, would sometimes “crash” at John Woeltz’s posh Prince Street pad, where the escaped prisoner had been held captive and tortured.
According to reports from Page Six, “The cast has already distanced themselves from the blonde-haired, blue-eyed twenty-something.”
“We don’t see [Charlie Zakkour] at his job on the show,” explained a source. “He’s just a kid making it in Manhattan like the other kids.”
“Filming has been done for a long time. I don’t think anyone [on the show] has spoken to him” since it wrapped.
Time for an analogy (lol):
The Post reported that Charlie is known as the Chuck Bass of the cast.
This, of course, refers to the brooding, womanizing, problematic AF character on Gossip Girl.
(I never understood the character arc GG gave Chuck Bass … especially after what he did to Jenny Humphrey, not to mention Blair. But, alas, this is Bravo we are talking about. OF COURSE they’d cast a real-life Chuck Bass.)
Charlie (like Chuck Bass) comes from privilege:

Charlie’s mom, Elizabeth Williams, is an art collector in Palm Beach. His dad, Anwar Zakkour is a private investor. He has held high-profile roles at JP Morgan, CitiBank and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
As per Bravo TV’s official website, “Charlie Zakkour brings substantial financial privilege to the cast as a crypto trader and private investor whose wealth enabled him to rule “NYC’s club scene since he was 14.”

Charlie clashed with a co-star over his financial situation:
Next Gen NYC’s Georgia McCann confronts Charlie about financial dependency. “You still get money from your dad, $10,000 a month in allowance.”
Defensively, Charlie responded, “You would not be on this show if it weren’t for me.” Tensions around wealth, independence, and privilege will be seen throughout the series.
Many cast members were born into wealthy and/or famous families, while others are working to build their legacies from the ground up independently.
