Hollywood legend Mickey Rourke is considering a lawsuit against Celebrity Big Brother UK over a salary dispute after his controversial exit.
It was alleged Mickey only did the show because he’s in serious financial trouble and needed a check to pay off some debts.
Mickey’s team wants respect on his name:
Kimberly Hines, Mickey’s rep, told US Weekly, “Big Brother is now refusing to pay Mickey his full agreed-upon fee. His legal team is currently pursuing the matter.”
“To use his name and image in this way, after a long and accomplished career, is an insult to a true cinematic icon. It disregards his legacy and crosses the line of basic respect — both within the industry and on a personal level.”
Casting knew exactly who Mickey was when he was hired:
Mickey’s rep claimed that producers were “fully aware” of Mickey’s “public persona.” She likened him to a “Hollywood rebel image.”
“They knew his presence would be explosive, controversial, and attention-grabbing. That’s exactly what they got, and more. They even promoted his provocative personality, which had already been well-documented in the press. It has become even more evident since the show aired.”
Kimberly Hines continued, “In our discussions, Big Brother was made fully aware of Mickey Rourke’s background and lifestyle. Yet, rather than handle it professionally, they took it too far, publicly embarrassing him and using his removal as a marketing tool. That’s not just unprofessional; it’s deeply disrespectful and damaging.”
The reality show’s producers are well aware Mickey’s a verbal loose cannon, and they got exactly what they wanted from him before “sending him out with barely a ride to the airport.”
It’s All About the Benjamins:
Mickey’s rep claimed Mickey is being “unjustly” denied a major payday. Hines declared CBB producers deliberately removed him this past Saturday. He was one day before “he would have become contractually eligible to receive a lot more money.”
Additionally, Mickey’s team believes he is being hit with “thousands of dollars worth of deductions from his current payout … and it’s all over hotel fees.”
Allegedly, Celeb Big Brother contractually promised first-class accommodations for Mickey and his team upon arriving in London. But, en route, ITV honchos informed them they’d only cover hotel rooms up to $300 per night.
Mickey raked up a $50K hotel bill for him and his staff. Now, he’s responsible for paying.
Allegedly, Mickey stayed silent thus far because “he has dignity and is proud.”
