Selling Sunset star Mary Bonnet told Page Six she’s hyper aware that The Oppenheim Group looks “pathetic” as a result of the show’s season 9 storylines.
Mary thinks Selling Sunset lost the plot:
“This is not the brokerage that [Jason Oppenheim] built. This is not the way that professionals have.” As per Mary, Jason is “beyond frustrated” with the current optics around The O Group.
“Yes, we are doing a TV show and we have to answer to things. But this has gotten so out of hand [with] all of the fabricated stories and stuff like that. Now, on social media, it affects our business, too. It’s not just for fun. This is damaging and it’s not ok.”
“I don’t regret doing the show; [however], I’ve had to reassess how I’m going to structure it. If we can’t turn this back around to a more woman empowerment, positive thing, then I’ll move on to something else.”
“But, I just think it’s sad. But there are ways around it. We can let go of some of the people who are problem starters and move on. [Then,] we have a positive woman empowerment, respectable brokerage again.”
At this point, “Everyone loses,” continued Mary. “And it makes our entire brokerage look pathetic.”
Did Mary get her wish?
Days ago, Chrishell announced she was leaving Selling Sunset. “I have to be honest, having come from nothing, it’s really hard to turn something like this down.”
“I’ve gotten to a place where I don’t need the show financially,” Chrishell continued. “I’m lucky to have other forms of employment, because it’s no longer good for my mental health.”
Although this season ended on a bit of a sour note, I will truly always be SO grateful for this show. It introduced me to you guys. I am deeply thankful for your support. There were lots of fun memories I am going to focus on from here on out. You will see me again, so it’s not goodbye … just goodbye for now.”
