Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause chose to leave Netflix‘s juggernaut for her mental well-being.
Mental health comes first!
“I’ve vacillated back and forth with this decision in the past,” Chrishell told Bustle. “I have to be honest, having come from nothing, it’s really hard to turn something like this down.”
Plus, the show’s producers can be persuasive. But now, even “Jesus Christ himself” couldn’t get Chrishell to come back for season 10. Neither can Selling Sunset creator Adam DiVello, who has been calling and texting her “100 times a day.”
“I’ve gotten to a place where I don’t need the show financially,” Chrishell continued. “I’m lucky to have other forms of employment, because it’s no longer good for my mental health.”
Insta official:
Although this season ended on a bit of a sour note, I will truly always be SO grateful for this show. It introduced me to your guys. I am deeply thankful for your support.”
“There were lots of fun memories I am going to focus on from here on out. You will see me again, so it’s not goodbye … just goodbye for now.”
The source of the drama:
“I get it, they want to make a light show,” explained Chrishell. “If I was doing a show with less problematic people, I can totally see their point.”
Stause worries the way the show was edited makes her seem like the bad guy. “With Emma, I just look like an overbearing friend,” she says. “But there are so many things that would’ve completely vindicated me and my opinion, and they left all of it out.”
There’s also the matter of how Blake allegedly treats Emma, added Chrishell. “They would break up, and she would tell me these horrific things that he would say to her, that he would do. He thought it was funny to say, ‘If you ever do that again, I’ll beat you.’ Who jokes about that? It’s not funny.”
