Actress/producer Madison Bontempo may be making her reality TV debut in the upcoming Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County spinoff, but this isn’t the first time she’s had the opportunity to join a reality TV cast.
On the latest episode of The Unplanned Podcast, the content creator and her husband, Kyler Fisher spoke about their latest career pivot. Madison was confirmed in April as part of the cast for the West Coast spinoff when Hulu announced the series at the Get Real event and its cast list.
The FishFam YouTuber will star in the series alongside fellow content creators like Avery Woods, Salomé Andrea, Aspyn Ovard, Bobbi Althoff, and McCall DaPron, the younger sister of original MomTok member Mayci Neeley.
Madison revealed that she was approached multiple times to join two different Real Housewives franchises. When she lived in Los Angeles, she said she was asked to join the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. When Madison moved some miles south, she got a call about the Real Housewives of Orange County.
She turned both initial offers down. However, she was given another opportunity to join the O.C. Housewives series later. Upon the third ask, Madison entertained the possibility. “I wanted to see the vibes, you know, I’m like, ‘Why am I always saying no? Maybe I should just do something.'”
“So, then I took the interview. Then they wanted me to meet up with the other women, and they really wanted me to do it.”
But, when it came time to make a decision, Madison admitted she started “feeling really nervous.” She decided it wasn’t the right move for her, and she turned the offer down again. Months later Hulu came around to see if she’d be interested in joining the California answer to Utah’s MomTok.
For Madison, it was a more attractive offer. “This felt more right because the girls are my real friends. I am LDS. I loved the other show, and I felt it felt more homey. It wasn’t as scary because I knew everybody on it, and we were all doing this for the first time together.”
