Lydia McLaughlin‘s brother Geoffrey Stirling was laid to rest two weeks after his death.
The former Real Housewives of Orange County personality shared photos and videos from an intimate burial service attended by family and close friends.
Lydia remembered Geoffrey:
“My son Stirling looks so much like my brother to me,”
The former RHOC star continued in her Instagram story, “This loss has been devastating to all of us, but we cling to Jesus and each other.”
Guests watched as white as doves were released into the sky as a tribute to Lydia’s late brother.
Lydia included a photo of her brother and late mom Judy Stirling as Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather” played in the background.
Lydia’s original post about her brother’s death:
“My family has experienced an unimaginable loss. My brother, Geoff, was tragically taken and our hearts are shattered 💔.”
‘Birds of a Feather’ was the song he turned to after we lost our mom. He’d cry every time.”
“I can’t believe we’re facing this pain just 6 months after losing my best friend and mother. I know they’re both with Jesus now, and He’s walking with me through this darkness. One step at a time. 🤍🕊️🪽.”
Geoffrey’s death:
According to the Newport Beach Police Department, officers conducted a traffic stop on a motorcyclist at approximately 9:15 p.m. on April 17. The rider was later identified as Geoffrey.
“Shortly after being stopped, Stirling became uncooperative and assaulted the officer,” police said in a statement. “During the ensuing violent altercation, Stirling managed to remove the department-issued taser from the officer’s duty belt and attempted to deploy it multiple times against the officer. At that point, an officer-involved shooting occurred.”
Geoffrey’s passing comes months after Lydia mourned the death of her mom Judy in October 2024.
