In a collaboration with fashion designer Christian Cowan and TRESemmé, Lisa Rinna attended Elton John’s Annual AIDS Foundation’s Academy Awards Viewing Party in a gown made of human hair.
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star – who is known for her signature haircut, as per Brandi Glanville – leaned into a harebrained idea to wear hair to the Viewing Party.
Letting her hair down:
On March 14, Christian Cowan posted a BTS video of the creation of Lisa’s gown, with a tribute to her signature line from season 4 of The Traitors US. “A-List hair, reimagined in the most iconic…legendary…way.”
PEOPLE reported the designer used approximately 11 pounds of ethically sourced human hair from three suppliers to bring the vision to life. The hair used was treated with “TRESemmé’s A-List collection before it was individually sewn into the dress’s spine.”
“I wanted to celebrate the beauty of Lisa,” explained Christian. “She’s a tour de force. And, she’s so known for her iconic hair, so it felt fun to play with that.”
The collaboration “feels so authentic,” remarked Rinna. “It’s about going out of your comfort zone and trying new things. Whether you’re on a red carpet or whether you’re just going out for the day.”

ICYMI, Rinna and Christian worked together for the first time a few years ago. Lisa modeled Cowan’s eyewear for a campaign. The Days of Our Lives alum recalled, “That shoot was one of my favorite shoots I’ve ever done.”
