The Hills are alive in our hearts, and streaming services, and Lauren Conrad is raising the veil on some of the show’s secrets.
During an interview on The Drink with Kate Snow, LC revealed that the cast didn’t think the show would get picked up (because it wasn’t exciting enough) and discussed what parts of The Hills were scripted.
Lauren is Coming Clean regarding the rumors that The Hills was scripted. “The only lines I was given … I did the intro (as narrator). That was a script I was given.”
“We would sometimes negotiate online. I’d say, ‘I don’t feel great saying that,’ but I mostly stuck to the script.”
LC confirmed there were no other scripts. “There was a lot of editing. A lot of long pauses and music. At the beginning, they were like, ‘Film it all,’ and we’ll figure out what to do.”
After acknowledging how grateful she was LC explained, “I was done. I had done it for years. Like I said, it was always meant to be temporary. I was ready to step into that next chapter and do what I really wanted to do.”
For the most part, Lauren has stepped away from the spotlight to focus on her family and fashion empire. She is raising her two sons in California with her husband, William Tell. She runs a massive, multi-million dollar retail presence. Most notable is LC’s highly successful, long-standing fashion line with Kohl’s, through which she makes clothes accessible to her fans and followers.
