Lala Kent “Misses” Her Friendship with Katie Maloney but it “Ran its Course”

Lala Kent is giving her “Give Them Lala” listeners insight into filming Vanderpump Rules

With baby #2 set to arrive any day now, the podcast host banked episodes while she’s on maternity leave.

The latest episode, “The One About Even MORE VPR Moments” dropped August 21, and details her perspective throughout the years.

The soon to be mother of 2 reflects on her past friendship with her costars.

“They all have a really special place in my heart,” she begins.

Lala and Katie Maloney’s friendship has ebbed and flowed throughout the years. Currently, the former friends are on the outs due to the fall out of last season.

To jog your memory

During the season 11 reunion, Ocean’s mama repeated a conversation she and Katie had in private. The alleged conversation involved Katie venting about her Something About Her co-owner. In Katie’s defense, Ariana Madix leaving for Broadway at the height of SAH’s opening is stressful. Especially considering all the setbacks and red tape.

Katie was the colleterial damage in Lala’s attempt to humble Ariana. As we know, the attempt backfired. So much so that now fans are begging Bravo to not have her on season 2 of The Valley.

Needless to say, there are many strained relationships as a result of Scandoval. To be clear, not because of Ariana — Tom Sandoval.

During Season 10, Lala recalls she and Katie being extremely close. Unfortunately, that changed as the season and drama continued.

“Even though it was a hard time in my life, that friendship really got me through a tough time,” she says.

Once cameras pick up again, I’m curious what the dynamic will be. Right now the group appears segerated. Ariana and Katie. Scheana and Lala. The Toms. And then there’s James and Ally holding the group together. Who would have thought James Kennedy would be the tether??

I think the entire cast still needs time to properly heal to then effectively film a show.

I may be in the minority here, but I would be open to seeing the girls work through their issues and come together again. That’s assuming everyone returns.

To close out that question on the pod, Lala ends it with:

“No matter why we fell off, I don’t really give a sh-t. What I do know is that the time we had together I really enjoyed.”

Mature answer! We’ll just ignore earlier in the episode when she brings up Ariana being rude after her father passed away in season 7.
