Kristin Cavallari didn’t hold back when Page Six asked about her current status with her high school boyfriend/Laguna Beach co-star, Stephen Colletti.
In case you missed it, Kristin and Steeeeepppppphhhen are teaming up to record the “Back to the Beach With Kristin and Stephen podcast which will focus on re-watching and breaking down the first two drama-filled seasons of MTV‘s pioneer reality show.
Relationship status:
The Very Cavallari alum gushed over having her old friend back in her day-to-day life.
“I love Stephen so much and it’s been so nice to have him in my life again — and we’ve gotten really close.”
And now, for the question on all of our minds, have the ageless reality tv stars re-sparked their romance?
That’s a ‘no’ from KCav.
“There’s nothing romantic happening with us.”
Podcast deets:
Premiering during the summer of 2022, Kristin and Stephen are spending their time reliving “all of the good, the bad, and the ugly moments” from Laguna Beach.
Kristin confessed, “There are definitely cringe moments — quite a few of them.”
“But once you can kind of get past that, it’s actually it’s just been such a fun experience.”
My, how things change:
Since Laguna Beach followed high school kids’ lives, Kristin has a much different perspective as she rewatches the show in her mid-30s.
Like most of us in our teen years, Kristin’s reactions to life were “so emotional” because she “took everything so personally.”
Over the years, Kristin admitted to feeling like “MTV screwed with me;” however, talking to Stephen about the drama all these years later has made her see things from a different lens. “I’m like, ‘No, everyone actually was messed with just as much.”
Finding peace:
Hashing things out with Stephen almost two decades later has been “really therapeutic” for the Uncommon James founder.
“To hear Stephen kind of break things down when I thought he was lying to me or whatever, to sit here now and break it down, it’s been like, ‘OK, I can believe you,’” she elaborated.
“You know, like, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was.”
It’s been really nice to clear some stuff up just to watch it from not such an emotional place anymore.”
Cold feet:
Kristin didn’t jump at Stephen’s offer to collaborate on the podcast.
Though she was “hesitant” at first, Kristin declared she is “really happy that I agreed to do it.”
“It’s been so nice to reconnect with him and a lot of other people that we’ve had come on the podcast … I can’t wait to get it out there and see how the audience reacts to it. I feel like people will hopefully be into it because we really don’t hold back, we break everything down.”
Kristin took to her IG page to promote the upcoming podcast episode with Laguna Beach/The Hills alum, Jason Wahler.
