KJ Dillard opened up more about his mental health journey and recent split from co-star Dara Levitan.
The Summer House star spoke with Carl Radke on his podcast, More Life, and he revealed that Mia Calabrese told him she encouraged Dara to end the relationship while he was seeking mental health treatment.
“Mia told me that she told Dara to do that,” KJ said about Dara’s decision to go their separate ways.
“Dara was gonna hang on,” KJ continued. “That wouldn’t have been good for either of us.”
During part 1 of the reunion, the Summer House newbie admitted to being hospitalized for self-harm after filming the season.
Filming offered a welcomed distraction, but once the high of the summer wore off, things took a turn.
Ultimately, Dara broke up with him after his hospital stay while he was at Release Recovery.
“Looking back, if me and Dara were dating when I was in recovery, it would have been a mess,” KJ continued on the June 2 episode.
“I would have been focused on saving the relationship rather than focusing on my health.”
ICYMI: The couple began dating midseason after Dara was introduced as a friend of West Wilson’s.
Summer House fans noticed something was up when KJ’s Instagram was wiped clean and the duo no longer followed each other.
Especially because the former couple attended Ciara Miller’s DSW collaboration event together just hours before the news broke.
For the record, KJ also revealed that Ciara welcomed him into her home when his finances were tight.
