Katie Maloney is setting boundaries with her Vanderpump Rules co-star, Lala Kent. After the expectant mother used a private conversation they had against her at the season 11 VPR reunion, Katie is stepping back from their friendship. During an interview on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Katie revealed, “I haven’t spoken to [Lala] since the reunion. I didn’t see that coming.”
Blurred lines:
After referring to the off-camera feud Katie had with Lala six months before filming began, the Something About Her sandwich shop co-owner explained how Lala loses track of real life and being a reality tv star.
Lala thinks that if the audience “didn’t see it, it didn’t happen,” reasoned Katie. “But, we talked about things in San Francisco. We had a moment on a boat that was much longer that what you saw. There was plenty of resolve. Sometimes it just takes a little time to get fully back on track with someone.”
Lala’s grudges:
“Our lives are in slightly different places and sometimes that just means you’re not meeting on the same page. I don’t know. Obviously, she had been harboring certain feelings and thinking certain things I didn’t know she felt. She was saving them for the reunion, which I didn’t feel like was super authentic.”
“As someone who’s on a show, that’s one thing. But, to sit there and be called an ‘inauthentic person’ or ‘fake,’ but I’m sitting next to someone who I thought I knew and was open and honest with me.” Lala had been “feeling a certain way about me for a long time. That was shocking.”
Invasion of privacy:
When the podcast host asked Katie if she sees resolve with Lala in the future, Katie was firm in her answer. “Once you violate my trust, it’s very hard to come back from. Trust is the most important thing to me. When you try to manipulate me with that and use it against me. We talked about these things in private. Those aren’t the kind of conversations that were meant for camera. Not everything is. The way [Lala] is talking about it means I should also read my diary.”
“I’m allowed to have some kind of privacy and talk about emotions with people. I do with my mom, my other friends.” Lala was “one of those people. But, just because you’re on a show…” Katie flipped the scenario in that Lala tells Katie things off camera that she keeps private. “I would never make [those things] public just for the sake of television.”

- Lala is a shit friend and hypocrite. Why would Katie want her back in her life? People need to stop asking her if they have resolved things bc something’s don’t need to be resolved. You don’t need to “make up” with toxic ppl that repeatedly treat you poorly
- She is 💯🎯 she is allowed to have private moments that don’t belong on camera
- Lala is working hard for that paycheck
- Looks like there is no coming back for VPR
