Even though they aren’t exactly on the best terms, Jen Affleck says she does feel for her fellow Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Demi Engemann.
“Obviously we’ve had our differences, but to be honest, I actually feel bad for her,” Jen told Entertainment Tonight.
“I know that she’s probably going to receive a lot of hate and scrutiny,” she added, noting that she can relate to the feeling of having “the whole world against you.”
“For that, I do feel empathy toward her.”
In Case You Missed It:
Demi and Jessi Draper previously spearheaded the takedown of Jen and Zack Affleck’s relationship during an earlier season of Mormon Wives.
While Jen and Jessi were eventually able to work through their drama, Demi remained on the outs with the group.
Things only got more complicated last season when Demi and Jessi clashed over the he-said-she-said Marciano drama, which ultimately led to a group wide shunning.
And now, heading into Season 4, Demi’s status has officially shifted.
She was noticeably absent from the cast photo and has reportedly been demoted.
That said, she still pops up briefly in the Season 4 trailer.
In one scene, Demi and her husband are shown in a recording studio, seemingly teasing a potential pivot into music.
Despite the tension, the MomTok crew admitted in the same interview that Demi could potentially reintegrate with the group — if Jessi is open to it.
“At the end of the day, we still need a great show. That’s our job,” Jen said.
“She’s a great villain,” Jessi chimed in.
Season 4 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives premieres March 12 on Hulu.
