Brittany Cartwright filed for divorce from Jax Taylor during his 30-day rehab stint. While in treatment, Jax continued to insult and cuss the mother of his child via rage texts.
Brittany needed out:
The Valley star was a guest on Bravo’s Hot Mic podcast and divulged how she finally pulled the plug on her toxic marriage.
Brittany explained she met with lawyers before she was “100%” sure she wanted to file. “It was just, let me have a meeting, see what I need to do to protect myself kind of situation.”
The busty Bravo TV personality realized – while Jax was in rehab – “I was just like, I got to. I have to do this now before I back out. Before he gets out of the mental health facility and pulls me back in. I have to do it now while I’m feeling strong. While I’m so angry. I’ve just got to get it done.”
Brittany worried her baby daddy would “pull [her] back in. He’s been able to do that for 10 years. So I just was like, I have to go through with it now and I have to be strong and I have to stay strong from here on out.”
Jax, post-treatment:
Brittany doesn’t “feel like he changed at all in those 30 days. I’m sure it’ll be on the show as well, but a lot of rage texting and stuff was still going on the entire time that he was in rehab.”
“So for me, I was just noticing like, this is just going to be constant. Like if you’re in therapy seven hours a day and you’re still finding time to call me names and cuss me out and send me rage texts, then you’re obviously not ever going to change.”
She realized, “Yeah, this is bad. I can’t stay in this. I was like, let’s do it now before I changed my mind. And I’m so glad I did. I’m not changing my mind. And I’m happy with my decision.”
