Before Jasmine Goode became a scene-stealer on The Valley, she was making headlines on the sidelines—as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader!
Pop culture lovers know that America’s Team isn’t complete without its iconic cheerleaders.
The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are just as much athletes as they are performers—holding themselves to a standard of perfection few can comprehend.
Jasmine was part of that elite squad for three years before retiring in 2015. And with the recent news of a major pay raise for DCCs, Jasmine is finally seeing the recognition she and her teammates fought for.
ICYMI: Netflix’s America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders pulled back the curtain on the grueling schedule, the expectations, and the emotional toll these women endure. It also highlighted the ongoing fight for fair compensation. Thanks to massive public support, DCCs are now receiving a 400% pay increase—with some veterans earning up to $75 an hour starting this upcoming season.
Jasmine shared her thoughts on the update during a recent Instagram AMA:
“Honestly, it made me a little emotional—like finally,” she said. “When I was a DCC, I gave everything: physically, mentally, emotionally! We all did. The work, the pressure, the standard—we were expected to uphold it all, and it was intense.”
Many cheerleaders, including Jasmine at the time, had to work multiple jobs just to stay afloat—despite the prestige of wearing that uniform.
“To see these women finally getting the pay and respect they deserve? It’s about damn time,” Jasmine concluded. “They are world-class athletes and performers. And this should be the standard for every dancer in the NFL and NBA.”
