Real Housewives of Orange County‘sย Gina Kirschenheiter believes children of reality TV stars are getting slighted by production companies.
The Bravolebrity made a keen point during a guest appearance on the Trading Secrets podcast.
“When my kids film, they don’t get paid and they don’t get protected,” began Gina.
“We could use some protection, some security, some residuals would be nice. A little control, protection for my children … That is something that I am very big on.”
The RHOC star explained her opinion to host Jason Tarktick of Bachelor Nation fame.
“When children become child actors they have to open a bank account that’s protected. The parents cannot spend that money. It’s because of exploitation of these child actors.”
“Everyone came together and decided, ‘That’s not right. Let’s get them protection.'”
“Reality children have to get a work release, but they don’t get paid and they don’t get protected.”
“That doesn’t make sense to me.”
“When my kids film, I put money away for them because I think that’s fair. They don’t always want to [film,] but it’s part of Mommy’s job and they’re supporting me and they’re helping me.”
“They’re working.”
