Next Gen NYC‘s Gia Giudice took to her Dirty Rush: The Truth About Sorority Life podcast to explain how Jackie Goldschneider‘s cocaine analogy on Real Housewives of New Jersey affected her Greek life.
The analogy!
“My mom and Jackie were arguing. [Then,] My mom heard a cheating rumor, and Jackie goes, ‘That’s like me hearing that Gia snorts coke in the bathroom at parties.’ My mother flipped out.”
“It was obviously an insane statement to make, regardless if it was an analogy.”
The [Dorinda Medley] CLIP went viral, and Gia’s standards were called into question. During her junior year at Rutgers University, there was an investigation to make sure she didn’t use drugs.
Gia recalled, “I’m sitting on this Zoom call with a straight face, and they go, ‘We saw what has been on the tabloids and what just aired on Bravo. Do you participate in using the drug cocaine?’”
I was like, ‘No, I do not do coke.’ And they saw just how unfazed I was and how pissed I was, and it kind of ended there.”
Although it was a “very quick” phone call, Gia admitted she found the whole thing annoying and avoidable.
It’s not about the pasta:
“The girls in my sorority knew that I didn’t engage in cocaine. They knew that I didn’t do the drug. It was just such a crazy statement and such a crazy question to ask me. You didn’t have to bring me to standards for that.”
According to Gia, standards are like a “government that runs sorority life and keeps everything in check.”
Also, Gia added, “That was the only time I got called to standards, and I was so upset that I texted Jackie about it afterwards.”
Jackie apologized and told Teresa’s oldest dorter she never intended for the argument to affect anyone’s college experience. “Now me and Jackie are fine and all is good.”
