Below Deck’s Chief Stew Fraser Olender is opening up about a frightening medical scare that landed him in the hospital during BravoCon.
According to Fraser, the incident was caused by vape poisoning.
“Whatever was in my vape caused me to have a coronary artery vasospasm,” he shared on Instagram.
In medical terms, that means the arteries supplying blood to his heart suddenly tightened.
The spasm cut off enough blood flow to trigger a myocardial infarction — essentially a heart attack, not from a blockage, but from a lack of oxygen during the spasm.

Fraser spent a week in London hospitals meeting with specialists to understand what happened and assess any long-term damage.
The silver lining? He’s now three weeks vape-free and says he has zero interest in going back.
“I could have died for the sake of something so ridiculously stupid, so please do yourselves a favour and give it up too,” he warned.
He’s already noticing one unexpected perk of quitting: clearer, brighter skin.
And through it all, Fraser had his beau Matt Rogers right by his side.
