Emily Simpson responds to Heather Dubrow’s confessional interview about her fashion show upset.

In case you missed it: During the RHOC episode, Singled Out, Emily confronts Heather over being the only lady who had to bring her own jeans to change into during the finale look. Additionally, the attorney was upset over having to wear a dress she felt was given to her because of her size.

After Emily voiced her grievances to fancy pants about being singled out, Heather responded via her confessional saying:

“I have news for you, the dress was tight on Emily. It wasn’t too big.”

Emily Responds

The mother of three tells Entertainment Tonight,

“You know, that really bothered me. I thought it was a hit at me and the way I looked physically. I was like ‘you’re just proving my point in your confessional’.”

“I’m trying to explain to you that I feel the way I do because people take hits at me and you just took a hit at the way I look.”

“I thought it was out of line for Heather because she doesn’t do that. She’s always very diplomatic.”

My thoughts

As a fuller figured woman myself, feeling like the biggest girl in the room is not new to me. I relate and understand how Emily feels more than I care to admit. Where she lost me however, is everyone, to include Emily, knew that Heather didn’t mean any malice.

I personally feel that Emily has tried to have many “moments” this season. From constantly bringing up Jennifer Pedranti’s financial sitution, to blowing “dressgate” out of proportion, she’s trying entirely too hard.

Heather doesn’t understand what it’s like to be the biggest in the room nor will she ever. I think she was genuinely shocked to hear she had offended Emily. But Heather’s Achilles Heel is being so fixated on appearing “perfect.” We saw how she snapped at Terry during last night’s episode over him saying she requires a lot of apologies.

I think Heather would have a better reception if she showed raw and reel emotion, versus remaining stoic and guarded. It’s hard to foster likability when a person is that closed off. When she is vulnerable about her family dynamic (advocating for LGBTQIA+), she tends to go over well on social media.

Gina Kirschenheiter also agreed with this notion, saying in the same ET interview:

“Heather Dubrow is actually not completely perfect and I like that about Heather.”
