Dolores Catania isn’t holding back when it comes to how Real Housewives of Beverly Hills operates compared to other franchises.
While recapping the latest RHOBH episode on the December 19 episode of Two T’s in a Pod, the conversation turned to viewers’ frustrations surrounding the lack of transparency in Kyle Richards and Morgan Wade’s relationship.
Dolores understood that Kyle was honoring the wishes of a former partner who didn’t want to be on camera — something she understands on a human level, but not on a Housewives one.
“No one gets away with what Beverly Hills gets away with, with not talking about their life,” Dolores said.
The RHONJ star implied that on most franchises, withholding parts of your personal life isn’t an option.
In fact, it can come with consequences.
“I can name some boyfriends who don’t want to be involved,” Dolores explained.
“And yet people are told, then we have to rethink your status.”
Translation: try that on another cast and you might be rethinking your contract.
Honestly, she’s not totally off base.
Beverly Hills has long been treated as the crown jewel of the Housewives universe, and with that seems to come a longer leash.
But as other cities continue to bleed, sweat, and emotionally spiral on camera, it’s hard not to notice the imbalance.
If Housewives from other cities see that surface level storytelling is rewarded on RHOBH, it doesn’t exactly encourage vulnerability.
After all, past glory can only carry a franchise so far, just saying!
