The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives‘ Dakota Mortensen was granted temporary custody of his and Taylor Frankie Paul‘s two-year-old son, Ever, amid an ongoing domestic assault investigation.
PEOPLE reported that Dakota was also granted a temporary restraining order against TFP.
The ruling:
Per the terms of the protective order, Dakota will have “temporary custody” of Ever. A hearing is set for April 7, at which point Taylor will be allowed to tell her side of the story to the court.
“No parent time is allowed until the scheduled hearing,” as per the order.
Dakota was granted a TRO against TFP after he made several calls to the Utah Division of Child and Family Services. Last month, after The Bachelorette was wrapped, he claimed Taylor had been physically abusive to their son Ever. TFP denied the accusations.
Taylor and Dakota have been ordered to get psych evaluations amid accusations of DV and child abuse. The psych evaluation has not been performed.

On Thursday, TMZ posted a violent video of Taylor hitting Dakota while he records her. “This is called physical abuse,” he says to the camera. At one point, TFP can be seen throwing chairs at him while her child was present in the room. Her daughter can be heard crying as TFP and Dakota continue fighting.
Later in the video, Dakota can be heard exclaiming, “Your daughter just got hit in the head by a metal chair.” The 2023 indictment alleged that Taylor threw “heavy, metal chairs” at Dakota.
Even worse, TFP’s daughter was struck by a chair during the incident, which matches the events in the video. During a follow-up interview, detectives on the case were also informed that their daughter had a large “goose egg” on her head, per the indictment.
