Daisy Kelliher is setting the record straight on a recent rumor that questioned whether Below Deck charter guests are legitimate paying customers.
The Below Deck Down Under chief stew recently answered a few fan-submitted questions about the past season, including one about the legitimacy of the charter guests.
“They want this show to be as authentic as possible,” Daisy said via IG story on June 4.
“When you have paying guests, their expectations are high.”
According to Daisy, the pressure is on every department aboard the yacht — from interior and water toys to the galley — with everyone working hard to earn a bigger tip.
“When people are actually paying their hard earned cash, suddenly people aren’t so forgiving.”
Daisy also confirmed that while guests do pay for their charters, they receive a significant discount.
After all, having your vacation documented for millions of viewers on a national television show tends to knock a few thousand dollars off the price tag.
After hearing Daisy’s explanation, I did a little digging into what else charter guests are responsible for paying.
Reportedly, guests must also cover their own flights, hotel accommodations, and ground transportation to the embarkation point, in addition to the discounted charter fee.
