Southern Charm’s Craig Conover is passing judgment about Austen Kroll and Salley Carson’s are they/aren’t they relationship.
Craig was a guest on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen and discussed his co-stars’ status. He said that “a lot happened” while he was filming Peacock’s The Traitors in Scotland.
The Sewing Down South‘s owner noted that their friends-with-benefits relationship was “almost regressing.”
“Look, I love both of them. I don’t think it’s healthy what they’re doing.”
“I don’t think it’s a sustainable relationship. I think they are hindering each other from moving forward, and it’s almost like this safety net that they have.”
According to Craig, if either Austen or Salley meets someone, their current will-they-won’t-they situation won’t be conducive to a healthy relationship. “If they try to date other people, no one’s gonna be OK with their relationship now, and so they have to figure that out.”
“Either date or don’t date,” Craig added, “but this middle-ground thing is, I think, not healthy.”
While Austen wants to keep it casual with Salley, last month, Salley admitted that her “soul is the happiest” when she is with Austen. Salley, proving Craig’s point, also confessed that the two experience strong mutual jealousy whenever either tries to date or move on with someone else.
During Season 11, Craig and Salley initially shared a very flirty dynamic. After a late night in Craig’s hot tub, he even convinced her to buy backyard chickens. However, the friendship grew complicated when a love triangle emerged involving newcomer Charley Manley.
When Salley finally “shot her shot” with Craig, Craig friend-zoned her.
