It’s a good day for Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney as the lawsuit against their West Hollywood sandwich shop, Something About Her, was dropped.
According to reports from Us Weekly, the lawsuit against the Vanderpump Rules alums “is set to be dismissed months before they were scheduled for trial.” FYI, the trial was scheduled to start on March 16, 2026.
Case dismissed:
Chef Penny Davidi, who filed suit against the reality stars in mid-2024 for breach of contract, informed the court she was dismissing all claims earlier in October.
She noted the dismissal was conditional, and certain conditions are expected to be met by the parties. Those conditions are currently unknown.
Penny, a popular Food Network Chef, claimed she was hired in 2023 to work as a chef at SAH. In court documents, she claimed Ariana and Katie did not follow the terms of their original agreement.
Re: the claims Chef Penny walked back …
Penny said she was promised a 10 percent cut of Something About Her.
Her role was “COO/Director of Culinary.” Per the alleged agreement, the trio was to “jointly engage in the business of developing, creating, owning, operating, promoting, and otherwise profiting and benefiting from, a restaurant, fashion, merchandise, and lifestyle, brand, business, and property to be known as Something About Her.”
In her lawsuit, the chef said she spent a substantial amount of time and effort on Something About Her, including obtaining trademarks for the business. Davidi claimed she was to be paid $7,500 a month in salary that would increase up to $10,000 over time. She claimed Katie and Ariana broke the deal by refusing to pay her the proper cut.
The lawsuit asked the court to force the VPR alums to follow the terms of the original deal.
Katie and Ariana asked the court to dismiss the complaint completely, proving Karma is a queen.
