Ashley Darby felt “pure shock” watching Karen Huger‘s drunken DUI footage after hearing the Real Housewives of Potomac star vehemently deny the charges against her.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen asked Ashley about how season 9 of RHOP will play out knowing Karen was found guilty on almost every charge, including DUI.
The Grande Damned:
“Of course you will [see things differently]. You won’t be able to not,” explained Ashley. That’s “because there are so many things that Karen deflects from.” Also, there are “so many things that [Karen] denies that are actually proven to be true on the tapes.”
Ashley felt “pure shock” after seeing the footage of a drunk AF Grande Dame. “We had actually seen Karen’s attorney out and about a few weeks before. He was just saying, ‘Oh, everything’s gonna be fine.’ Just reassuring us, too.”
“It was Gizelle [Bryant], Robyn [Dixon] and I. So we believed him! We thought they had this in the bag, like, they knew what they were doing.”

According to Ashley, she had the same reaction as many Bravo TV fans … How did Karen think she’d get away with this?!?!
“When that footage aired and we saw everything that transpired, we wondered, ‘How on earth did they decide to go to trial?’” Ashley elaborated, “All of that was just so … something’s not adding up. Something’s not right.”
The reality star faces prison time. Karen’s sentencing date is on Jan. 29th.

Bravo TV released the season 9 reunion seating chart. Fans were quick to question why Karen wasn’t in attendance.
Ryan Tresdale, Karen’s manager, released a statement on her behalf. “Karen made the important decision to enter a private recovery program, so she was unable to attend the reunion taping today.”
“She was fully supported in this choice. We stand behind Karen as she embarks on this meaningful journey, and we are proud of her for taking such a significant step forward in her personal growth.”
Several fans commented it’s the timing that make them question Karen’s motives. Her most recent DUI was in March of 2024. 10 months later, she chose to go to rehab.
She was able to get out of the reunion for a medical reason. Also, she will complete her voluntary rehabilitation stint just ahead of her sentencing.
