‘Fake German Heiress‘ Anna Delvey may have been among the first eliminated on season 33 of Dancing With the Stars, but the formerly incarcerated subject of Netflix‘s Inventing Anna may be in on the joke after all.
Alexa. Play ‘I Have Nothing’ by Whitney Houston:
The fact that Anna reposted the following video to her Instagram grid with the theme music from Curb Your Enthusiasm hints that she sees the idiocracy in this whole situation. In case you missed Anna’s jaw dropping response to host Julianne Hough‘s exit interview question, you have to see it for yourself …

Let’s break this down:
Julianne asked, “What are you going to take away from this competition?”
Anna’s response, “Nothing.”
While Julianne’s co-host, Alfonso Ribeiro found it funny, I’m not sure the former DWTS pro turned host found it humorous. A drawn out ‘There you have it,” passed Julianne’s lips as Anna’s professional partner, Ezra Sosa, is seen laughing at/with Anna. I’m not quite sure.
While I am very well another dolt being manipulated by Anna, I think she was making a joke. Is it possible Anna’s aloofness is the joke?
Hear me out …
The literal answer to Julianne’s question, What are you going to take away from this competition is, well, NOTHING … just like she said. Anna is literally taking nothing away from the competition.
Is the absurdity in the obvious what Alfonso (and myself, admittedly) found funny?
People understandably interpreted Anna’s answer as being obnoxiously cavalier. Many would respond to Julianne’s question by appearing humbled and full of gratitude. A standard, ‘I’m disappointed to go home so early, but am so thankful for the opportunity‘ would have sufficed, imho.
But, that’s not Anna.
If you watched Inventing Anna, it’s clear Anna Sorokin Delvey is clever. Obviously, she didn’t use her natural gifts for good. However, that doesn’t take away from the fact Anna was able to pull off living a life of excess and opulence for years. Again, I don’t approve of what Anna did, but most couldn’t it pull it off. Nor would most people be delusional enough to think they could get away with her crimes, but we’ll save that convo for another day.
