Sirius XM‘s Howard Stern used the press he received regarding his contract negotiations to have a little fun with Andy Cohen on his satellite radio show.
The Bravo TV exec sat in for the Shock Jock, who had been out of the studio for summer break.
Howard Andy 100:
Andy began, “Well, good morning.”
“I know this isn’t the voice that you expected to hear. This is probably not the voice you wanted to hear. But it is I, Andy Cohen, and this is our first day broadcasting on Andy 100.”
“I know you’re expecting a big announcement from Howard, and this is actually not how things were supposed to go. There’s been a lot of talk about what’s going to happen with Howard. Is he fired? I don’t know how much I’m allowed to say except that he’s not here and I am.”
“Howard and the executive team at SirusXM felt it was best to part ways now. If you are listening Howard, ‘I do love you. I hope that after you do whatever healing needs to happen, you will come back stronger than ever.”
“I just want Howard’s fans to know you will have a home at Andy 100.”
Sike!
After Andy responded to disgruntled callers, Howard entered the chat.
Howard set the record straight: He doesn’t have plans to leave Sirius XM and labeled anything to the contrary “completely false.”
“What p*sses me off now is that I can’t leave. I’ve been thinking about retiring, but now I can’t. They’ll say I got pushed out. So, I’ll be back.”
Howard clarified that his team sat down with the Sirius XM suits to have “fantastic” conversations. “I’m absolutely flattered that anyone cares that I re-signed. In a way, it was confirmation that I matter.”
The King of All Media did spill that other companies reached out to him when they heard he cut ties with Sirius. In the short time that Andy and Howard pranked his audience, Sirius’ stock fell, but quickly went back up when the prank was revealed.
