And Just Like That…the Sex and the City reboot will not be returning for a fourth season.
Showrunner Michael Patrick King announced the news on August 1, sharing:
“And just like that… the ongoing storytelling of the Sex and the City universe is coming to an end.”
He revealed that while writing the final episode of Season 3, it became clear that this would be the perfect place to wrap up the story.
The series will conclude with a two-part finale and two additional episodes, extending the original episode order for Season 3.
King and Sarah Jessica Parker decided to delay the announcement so as not to distract viewers from the current season’s story.
“We didn’t want the word ‘final’ to overshadow the fun of watching the season,” King explained.
“It’s with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and hearts over these many years.”
On August 14, we’ll say goodbye to Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte one last time.
