Real Housewives of Rhode Island star Alicia Carmody was able to forgive Liz McGraw over their ‘homeless’ feud thanks to the show.
During an interview on the Therapuss podcast, Alicia confessed she would have written Liz off if cameras weren’t rolling.
“Normally, I would have never talked to her again. Since I’m on the show with her,” Alicia continued, “I’m like, ‘Well, I have to forgive her,’ which is good. Forgiveness is good.”
Admittedly, Alicia has historically “run away from problems,” not addressing things. “I shut down and run. I just won’t answer phone calls. I avoid like the plague. But on this [show], you can’t do that. You have to face your fears and respond. I didn’t know how to do that before.”
“It made me a lot stronger,” reflected Alicia. “I didn’t realize I was that sensitive.”
ICYMI, Liz was bothered by Alicia’s claim that she was left “homeless” as a child when her father walked out on their family. Liz continuously claimed that Alicia was “never” homeless, which led to a screaming match during a car ride to Boston.
Alicia clarified, “Listen, I never lived on the streets. I never said that. I just said my father sold our home, took all of our money, and I had to move from house to house.”
“When she was questioning me, I felt like, ‘You know, my story.’ But we grew up very similar.” Alicia explained her POV. “I was stuck in the car for two hours — two hours of the same story. I was having a severe anxiety attack.”
