Alex Baskin discredited Scheana Shay‘s recollection of a meeting production had with the cast around the mid-season point of season 11 of Vanderpump Rules. The show’s Executive Producer described Scheana’s version of the story as “pretty dramatic” and a “heightened account” of what really went down.
In an interview with Variety.com, Alex shared that “We did get the entire cast together, and we thought we had hit a point in the season where I actually think they were impacted but what was happening on social media. We basically were telling them to drown out the noise, and to make the show that they had made the previous 10 seasons. That didn’t mean we asked them to manufacture anything.”
Alex Baskin reiterated, “It didn’t mean that we gave them any specific talking points. It just meant that we made a show that worked because it was everybody rowing in the same direction, and reacting to each other. And we’ve gotten away from that. So we thought we had to intervene in that sense.”
Regarding Scheana’s side of the story, Alex thinks “that was a pretty dramatic, heightened account of what happened.”

Go live your lives.’” Also, Scheana said “Lala and I felt a lot of pressure after” Alex spoke to them about Ariana living in the same house with Tom.
This wasn’t the first time Scheana was caught attempting to deflect attention away from her behavior. Scheana named the producer who the VanderVerse saw speaking to Ariana in the last scene of VPR11. “Jeremiah said, ‘Let it all out. Whatever you want to say, go! Go for it.’ He was very frustrated [with Ariana] that day. To get walked out on, it was a slap in the face to everyone.”
