The most dramatic season of The Bachelorette will not make it to air after a disturbing video of Taylor Frankie Paul surfaced online.
The season was supposed to premiere on Sunday, March 22. But after seeing Taylor being physically abusive in front of one of her children, the network canceled The Bachelorette.
Axed!
ABC confirmed the cancelation of the season in an email to affiliates.
“In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time. Our focus is on supporting the family.”
The domestic violence incident with Dakota Mortensen occurred in 2023, when Taylor was arrested and charged with assault, criminal mischief and commission of domestic violence in the presence of a child. The charges were later dropped.
In case you don’t know TFP’s history:
Taylor Frankie Paul became famous as part of MomTok, which features a group of Mormon mothers sharing content from Utah.
She gained mainstream notoriety in 2022 by revealing on a live stream that she and other influencers in her community participated in “soft swinging,” a scandal that led to her divorce.
This viral drama inspired the Hulu series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and resulted in her being named the lead for the 2026 season of The Bachelorette, which won’t make it to air.
