Southern Charm newbie Whitner Slagsvol revealed he actually shot his shot with fellow newcomer Charley Manley.
During an appearance on the Morgan Pop Talks podcast, Whitner shared that he and Charley did go on a date — it just never made it to air.
“I did take a shot at Charley,” Whitner said.
“We did have a date that did get edited out.”
The Charleston-based attorney admitted the season made it seem like he only faced rejection, but that wasn’t exactly the full story.
The pair grabbed drinks at a rooftop bar in Charleston — The Vendue — and Whitner described it as a “nice date.”
Still, having cameras present made things a little awkward.
“I guess it was probably a little stilted because it was both of our first times having cameras in our face for a date,” he said. “Which is an experience.”
Whitner also revealed that someone close to him on production hinted that the plan was for him to go in for a kiss.
His production pal later joked that they could never have suggested something like that.
“I was like, no you definitely couldn’t have done that,” Whitner laughed.
Clearly nothing romantic came from the date.
Earlier in the season, both Charley and Salley were focused on Craig Conover.
However, by the end of the season, both women kicked Craig to the curb — and Whitner remained single.
