Bravo fans everywhere were shaken with the news that for the first time ever, RHONJ would not receive a reunion.
This comes on the tails of an incredibly turbulent and divisive season. Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice refuse to film with one another, creating a divide in the group, and a feeling of two separate shows merged into one.
The season 14 finale features an explosive fight resulting in the no reunion verdict.
“When you see the finale, you’ll see,” Andy Cohen teases to Extra TV.
“I think the finale is a finale and a reunion all in one,” Bravo Daddy concludes.
However, fans are NOT happy with this decision, prompting Bravo to act quickly.
The resolve? An untraditional “reunion” format that gives fans the closure they need after a turbulent season.
Watch Party Deets
In a Variety exclusive, we learned that the “non reunion, reunion” filmed on Monday, July 15 at Rails Steakhouse in Towaco, New Jersey.
The watch party features the cast watching the finale together under one roof but in two separate rooms.
Room A– Teresa Giudice, Jennifer Aydin, and “friend of” Jackie Goldschneider.
Room B– Melissa Gorga, Rachel Fuda, Danielle Cabral, Margaret Josephs, and “friend of” Jennifer Fessler.
A bipartisan Dolores Catania floats between the two rooms to watch alongside the cast.
The watch party will air as a special on Aug. 11, the Sunday following the season finale.
Whether it’s one episode or more has not been decided.
Season 14 will likely be the end of Real Housewives of New Jersey as we know it. Rumors are swirling that Jersey will receive a reboot and cast refresh since the current model is unsustainable. It’s unclear who will return and who will get the boot for season 15.
In the same interview with Extra, Andy maintains that “no decisions have been made.”
Production is no “nowhere close” to making casting decisions.
Andy says the remainder of the season is great TV and we believe him! The season is picking up, and we have the much anticipated explosive finale in our future.
