Teddi Mellencamp is giving her dad his flowers… and then some.
The RHOBH alum took the stage at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on March 26 to present the Icon Award to her father, rock legend John Mellencamp.
In her speech, Teddi reflected on her recent health battle and revealed just how pivotal her dad was during that time.
“It was a little over a year ago when I got sick — my life felt short even when the days in the hospital seemed to go on forever. Sometimes you get sick and you don’t get better,” she shared.
But in true John Mellencamp fashion, he wasn’t about to accept that outcome.
“He wasn’t going to let that lyric define my life. He stepped up, took control, fought for me and pretty much changed my life, saved my life,” Teddi continued.
She finished the tribute by calling him not only her dad, but her best friend.
ICYMI: Teddi was first diagnosed with stage II melanoma in October 2022.
After multiple surgeries, she revealed in April 2025 that the cancer had progressed to stage IV, spreading to her brain and lungs.
Since then, she’s shared that she currently has “no detectable cancer” and remains on maintenance immunotherapy.
And because this family clearly doesn’t do anything halfway, John ended up giving the Icon Award right back to Teddi — a full circle moment that made the whole thing even more emotional.
