Paige DeSorbo responds to Kyle Cooke shading Giggly Squad during the Summer House After Show.
Kyle Cooke wasn’t happy with his Summer House costar meddling in his marriage or his business.
During the Summer House After Show, Kyle clapped back at Paige DeSorbo’s commentary about Amanda Batula’s involvement with Loverboy.
“I don’t expect someone who does a podcast to understand that,” Kyle said about Paige’s campaign for Amanda to find herself outside of Loverboy.
As two female podcasters themselves, Ria and Fran of the Chicks in the Office took the opportunity to ask Paige how she felt about his demeaning comments.

“I don’t know if this is really sad or like I just don’t care, but Kyle’s never thought anything of my podcast,” Paige said.
The Giggly Squad cohost admitted that she originally didn’t have a reaction to Kyle’s After Show comments. However, it wasn’t until Paige began receiving DMs and comments from fellow podcasters and her hometown friends that she began processing his comment.
“From the beginning we never talked about our podcast with the cast, because they weren’t very supportive of it.”
In case you missed it, Paige DeSorbo and Hannah Berner started their podcast – Giggly Squad – in 2020. The best friends turned cohosts coined their podcast name after Kyle Cooke famously referred to the duo as the “giggly squad” during season 4.
Due to Hannah departing Summer House and how she left during season 5, Paige opts to not mention the podcast on the show, or to her castmates.
“Now, five years later, I still never bring up Giggly Squad to anyone so hearing him say that was kind of just more like ‘oh he’s been saying that.’”
“I think it was the first-time other people who have podcasts who are women, who that is their career were like ‘wait, what the heck?’”
Ria and Fran asked Paige her theory as to why Kyle doesn’t hold her career in as high esteem as she does his.
“I don’t want to think of it as a jealousy thing because in my head, you’re a guy, I’m a girl so we already don’t compete in the same lane for things.’
“You do drinks, I do a podcast – we’re totally different.”
Both Paige and Hannah created Giggly Squad as a way of showcasing their personalities beyond Summer House‘s hour time block. Despite Paige constantly promoting Loverboy on the show and off, she doesn’t feel the same support from her costars.
“None of them have ever said they’ve listened to Giggly Squad, that it’s so funny –that they love it. No one’s been to a show.”
