Former Dancing With the Stars pro Sharna Burgess popped off at Full House actor John Stamos after he commented on why he’d never do ABC’s Emmy-winning competition show, despite being asked “every single season.”
“I said, ‘Don’t ever ask me again,’” John Stamos said in a recent podcast interview with Bobby Bones, an underdog who ended up winning DWTS with Sharna. “I’m never gonna do that show,” declared Uncle Jesse. “What makes that show good is people suffering and looking like fools. They’re breaking their feet, calluses,” John continued. “I don’t want that.”
Sharna took to TikTok to comment on John Stamos’ rant. “Why do I care so much?” began the dancer, considering she’s no longer a part of the DWTS cast (though she is appearing at DWTS Con in Palm Springs). “I was on the show for 15 years. The man that you’re speaking to [Bobby Bones] is the man that I won with.” Bobby was the “underdog who laid it out on the floor every single time.” Sharna added that John Stamos was “tone-deaf.”
“Tell me you don’t watch the show without telling me you don’t watch the show. DWTS is about [taking] people who are elite at what they do, have the bravery and courage to step out onto a dance floor in front of the millions of people who watch, and do something they’ve never done before – or know that they’re not great at -and try.”
Sharna reasoned that people voted by Bobby Bones because they were “inspired” by him because they saw themselves in him. She added that the purpose of DWTS is to get people out of their comfort zone and “get through the thing that’s hard.”
“At the end of the day, if you don’t want to do the show, don’t do the show.” Sharna noted that he shouldn’t say no because he thinks “the show is built on making people look bad.”
“You don’t want to do the show because you’re scared of looking bad. If you’re not up for the challenge, don’t be up for the challenge. But don’t sh*t on the people who have done it.”
