Crystal Kung Minkoff and Cynthia Bailey discussed the “Narrative Integrity Clause” that the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City have to sign to ensure they aren’t conspiring with or leaking content to third parties.
The former RHOBH star and RHOA‘s ‘friend of’ chatted about RHOSLC’s “Mega clause” on their podcast, Humble Brag.
SLC’s tea was spilled:
“The cast, they don’t get the screeners,” explained Crystal.
Cynthia added, “They think [the cast] leaks it to the bloggers. So, they are punishing them. If you act right, you get to see the show before the episodes.”
“They usually get them two days prior,” Crystal clarified, “so you can see what’s happening.”
This most recent season was different. “Salt Lake City was banned this season from getting it. Furthermore, now, with this new part of their contract with the mega clause, if they are found to be talking to bloggers, leaking storylines, they’ll get fired immediately,” continued Crystal.
The fine print:
The podcaster’s producer chimed in with the critical deets.
“It’s called the Narrative Integrity Clause. Basically, the cast are not allowed to create, influence, or leak storylines about the show or other cast members off-camera. This includes using third parties as a proxy.”
“Any on-camera discussion about unverified activity will be cut from the final edit. Any unverified activity is punishable on a scale that includes financial penalties, loss of screen time, demotion, and firing.”
Cynthia was aghast. “That’s insane. I have been around a long time within this space. That’s never come up in Atlanta. What is happening over there?”
